Diagnostic Testing for COVID 19
November 10, 2021
Greetings ECS Community,
Local school districts are teaming up with the Cattaraugus County Health Department and the Cattaraugus County Office of Emergency Services to offer free and easy access to rapid COIVD-19 testing to the school community at 2 locations within the County on a regular basis. The rapid tests are for individuals that need a test to return to work/school, or have symptoms of COVID. The results from these tests will be available within 1 hour after the completion of testing.
As of the date of this letter, the plan is for the testing to occur at the BOCES CTE centers in Ellicottville and Olean on a regular basis (afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Fridays). Other days/times maybe offered as schedules change due to holidays, etc.
These tests are only available to people that work/volunteer for the school, students of the school, or anyone in the building that would be required to be tested based on State rules (contractors, bus drivers, etc.) who are symptomatic, or otherwise need a test to return to work/school.
In light of this, the person needing a test MUST present a school ID, work ID, student ID, or an acceptable document (a pay stub, report card, student schedule, etc.) showing affiliation with the school at the testing site. Those under 18 will also need to have a parent/guardian with them at the time of testing to consent for the test to be completed. After the test, you will be provided with the results either in person, by phone, email, or fax. As part of the consent process, please consider giving permission for the County to also release the results to the school to streamline the process.
Appointments will be required and will be made by filling out a very simple online form to book a time to arrive at the testing site. Once on site, a paper registration form will need to be completed. Registration can be completed the same day you want to be tested, but earlier is better. Actual dates, times and locations will also be available via this registration link.
“Registration” can be found online at www.cattco.org/covid-school-testing
