Fall School Physicals

Health Office Notes

In looking forward to next school year, please update all physicals on your child. Physicals are a NYS requirement for all students entering the district for the first time and those entering Pre-K, K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th grades.

Last year, NYS waived physicals for all sports and I do not anticipate that being the case this 2021/2022 school year. Please arrange to have your student have their physical over the summer to avoid a delay in their starting the fall sports season. A physical done in August 2020 will be expired for a student athlete. Your child’s private physician or any Well Now Urgent Care ($30 fee) can complete their physical so they can be eligible to start practice in August. NYS also requires that doctors use an approved NYS physical form that can be found on the ECS homepage under Nurse Department.

Please also check with your child’s doctor regarding updating immunizations. Please see on the ECS homepage under Nurse Department the grades that are mandated to have new immunizations. All students need to be up to date within 14 days of the school year or they will not be allowed to attend. The Cattaraugus County Health Department (716) 373-8050 also can administer school immunizations, please call them with any questions.

Have a happy and healthy summer everyone!

Mrs. Hager
