A Message from Dr. Erich Ploetz, Principal

Dear Ellicottville Middle/High School Community,

As both an educator and a proud member of this community, it is my honor to serve as the principal of Ellicottville Middle/High School. Since joining this incredible school in the summer of 2017, I have been deeply committed to ensuring that every student who walks through our doors has the opportunity to thrive—both academically and personally.

At Ellicottville, we believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a great education. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to cultivate an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired.

Beyond academics, we take great pride in maintaining a positive and caring school culture, where students are encouraged to explore their passions, take on leadership roles, and develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Whether through rigorous coursework, hands-on learning experiences, or extracurricular involvement, we are committed to helping every student discover their full potential.

Having completed my dissertation on rural education, I am especially passionate about making Ellicottville a school that reflects the strength, values, and aspirations of our community. Every day, I strive to build a school that our students, families, and staff can be proud of—a school that prepares students not only for graduation but for a lifetime of success.
